Although my mortgage company was pushing for another title company, I contacted Wanda the owner of Clear to Close Title Services. She was generous with her time and insight. The information she communicated to me both by phone calls and email were so helpful.
I then spoke to the customer service rep @ the mortgage company and mentioned that I wanted to do the work with Clear To Close, since they had worked on a previous closing and had many of the docs in their files from a former refi and it would amount to a savings of some $600.00.
Immediately a call came in from the mortgage banker and he told me that they had already processed the title w/ a firm that does all their title work. I’m guessing the mortgage company owns that title company or has some back channel connection. The banker offered to discount the $600.00 back to me to stay on board with them and that staying with their title company would expedite the closing. That’s what I ended up doing.
However, if you are thinking of a refi or a mortgage, it can’t hurt to call Clear To Close Title Services. They are very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. And the call may save you hundreds of dollars like it did for me.
